MAJOR WORK 2

MAJOR WORK 2

The second major work in Year Ten offers the boys more scope and artistic freedom.

The starting point was one of the following words

FREEDOM   HAVEN
PANDORAS BOX               METAMORPHOSIS      RELEASED    ENCASED    TENSION       MIMIC       INDEPENDENCE

This is your starting point -

Look at how many interpretations there are of the word that you have selected. You can develop from any one of those ideas, expand them, find the opposite meaning - and still be seen to have started at the topic. This gives you a lot of scope to do almost anything.

Select media

Make an informed decision about what media you will use for this work. Prepare the materials or surface you are working on. Consider unusual materials or combinations of media. Push the usual or expected boundaries. Develop compositions which speak to a synthesized focus.

SURFERS PARADISE MAJOR WORKS

CONCEPT –  PLACE
This major work concentrates on presenting in a visual form, one ( or more ) facets of life on the Gold Coast -  the people, the place, the environment – based on the excursion to Surfers Paradise
Students were asked to create an individualised reflective response and devise a meaning, using the language of art and whatever media they choose.
